Join Us at INTX 2016 to See How Cable and Video Go Hand in Hand

Apr, 25, 2016 Hi-network.com

Not so long ago, the Internet and television were incompatible. Today, they're practically interchangeable. Next month, May 16-18 the Internet and Television Expo (INTX) kicks off in Boston, MA where the worlds of media, entertainment and technology get linked together. Come and learn about the latest breakthroughs in video and cable and participate in interactive discussions. We've got our experts available to help you with the challenges of the future.

Our booth focuses on two key themes: (1) the virtualization of video services and (2) the evolution of cable access.

Cisco Infinite solutions are cloud video entertainment offerings that can help you deliver live, linear, on-demand, and over-the-top TV services to multiple screens. It's a three-part offering -'Infinite Home', a build-your-own TV Everywhere solution, 'Infinite Video', a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that can take a service provider from interested to up-and-running in 90 days, and 'Infinite Broadcast', a multiscreen video solution for one-way and hybrid satellite and cable service providers. Whatever access network uses to connect customers, within and out of the home, or whatever device the subscriber uses, one cloud can serve them all. With Cisco Infinite solutions, carriers can make more money, offer new services more quickly, and reduce operating costs.

In terms of cable access we'll showcase the Cisco evolved CCAP solution, the Cisco CBR-8. This was announced last year at INTX with 2 major customers -Comcast and Altice. Since then many other customers have deployed cBR-8 including KBRO, SK Broadband, Midco, and more.

  • What does cBR-8 offer cable operators? Unlike other CCAP platforms, the Cisco cBR-8 was purpose built for DOCSIS 3.1 -no forklift upgrades needed to achieve Gigabit and multi-Gigabit services.
  • Convergence of video and DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 onto one high capacity all-IP platform while slashing space, power, and cost requirements.
  • A platform architected to meet future of cable access requirements: distributed CCAP, node-as-a-platform, SDN, virtual CCAP, and integration into multi-access networks

Come and listen to Cisco leaders and experts talk on the leading edge topics in video and cable:
