The ITU, in collaboration with the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) in Mexico, has released an interactive map showing the gaps and barriers to financial connectivity across the country. The map is built on ITU Broadband maps, an interface containing information on how countries are connected to global interface networks. It uses geospatial analysis to study the distribution of financial transactions in order to inform decisions on financial inclusion. The ITU is planning similar deployments in China and Egypt.
