Israel is planning to set up a Cyber Security Operations Center (CSCO) to protect its railways, which are classified as critical infrastructure by the National Cyber Security Authority of Israel. The National railway operator Israel Railways (ISR) has awarded a$2 million contract for the development of the Center to government-owned Rafael Advanced Defence Systems, as ISR believes it is at a bigger risk from cyber attacks than comparable rail operators in other countries. The Center will provide ISR with better monitoring and control capabilities, and better protection of its electronic systems from cyberattacks.
