This article explains how to remove AI from Google Search...kind of.Technically, it can't be turned off, at least not officially. Below are some workarounds that will hide AI Overviews in some situations.
There are two primary ways to remove AI from Google Search.
The fastest and most effective method is to install a browser extension.Hide Google AI Overviewsis a great option that has zero configuration settings; just install it to instantly hide AI Overviews.
Download for Chrome Download for FirefoxThe other method is to edit your search engine settings in Chrome. This is the next best option if you don't want to install an extension.
After following these steps, you'll be able to use the navigation bar at the top of Chrome to search on Google without seeing AI Overviews.
Open Chrome's settings by selecting thethree dotsat the top right and then choosingSettingsat the bottom of the menu.
SelectSearch engineon the left.
SelectManage search engines and site searchon the right.
Scroll down and selectAddnext to theSite searchsection.
Fill out the form with this information, and then selectAdd:
Select thethree dotsnext toHide Google AI, and then selectMake default.
Google AI Overviews is now hidden. To test it out, open a new tab and enter some search terms into the navigation bar at the top of Chrome.
The results now open directly to theWebsection instead ofAll, which is where AI Overview lives.
If you ever need to undo these changes, return tochrome://settings/searchEnginesand change the default search engine to Google (or any other website).
The Chrome mobile app doesn't support the same custom search engine settings as its desktop counterpart. Fortunately, there's a handy website that can help us with that.

Open TenBlueLinks.org from your mobile device.
Open a new tab and search for something (anything) on Google.
Tap thethree dotsin the corner of the app and then chooseSettingsfrom the menu.
TapSearch engine.
SelectGoogle Web. Now, all web searches made through the navigation bar will jump to Google'sWebtab, hiding AI Overviews in the process.
