Google has recently started using a new undersea cable, which links its facilities in Japan and Taiwan, to provide faster connectivity in Asia, of up to 26 terabits per second. The new segment is an extension added to the pre-existing FASTER Consortium cable, the world's fastest fiber optic cable, which connects the United States and Japan. In parallel, the company has also built their first datacenters in Asia, located in Singapore and Taiwan, increasing investments in the region.
