Google announced it has includeda new section in its Transparency Report dedicated to reporting on the use of encryption on its own websites and across the web. According to the company, over 75% of requests to its servers are using encrypted connections. Gmail and Google Drive are the two Google products that use HTTPS connections by default. Google has also put together a top of 100 non-Google sites (accounting for about 25% of all global website traffic), showing which of them support or do not support forms of encryption.
