Over the past few years, Cisco and Intel's collaboration has extended into the realm of Internet of Things, allowing the strength of each organization to bring the industry as a whole, forward. In the Internet of Things, devices need applications, analytics, network connectivity, security, storage, and computing power. The partnership of Cisco and Intel offers comprehensive solutions working alongside several ecosystem partners.
Recently, during Cisco Live in San Diego, CA, we jointly showcased innovative IoT solutions and highlighted our collaboration on NFV:
"Cisco & Intel Together Making IoT and IoE Real"
Additionally, Cisco, Intel, AdvanTech, and Wind River partnered with openBerlin, a Cisco IoE Innovation Center, to conduct a rapid prototyping session to solve a transportation customer's needs. (http://www.cisco.com/web/DE/innovationcenter/berlin/index.html)
What to look forward to during IDF
Fresh off our Cisco Live success showcasing Fog computing, we are excited to participate in this year's Intel Developer Forum.
In collaboration with Intel, Cisco will be featuring a demo of its 829 Router for Fog Computing, allowing attendees to get up close with one of the pillars of Webcast: Cisco IoT System, data at the edge. Fog computing enables fast, secure, and intelligent decision making at the edge, with applications running from fog to the cloud. The Cisco Fog Computing portfolio comprises an array of edge network devices with integrated compute, network, and storage to meet the needs of IoT verticals such as Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Transportation, Mining, and Public Sector.
