China's internet regulator reprimanded LinkedIn for failing to monitor objectionable political content. As a result, as a punishment the regulator is requiring LinkedIn to perform a self-evaluation and provide a report with full details of monitored content. In addition, LinkedIn is forced to suspend new users inside China for a month. LinkedIn is one of the major platforms operating in the country. Facebook, Twitter, and Google do not provide their services in China over their inability or unwillingness to control third parties' content. LinkedIn has more than 50 million users in China. The platform has implemented software algorithms and human reviews to flag posts that could offend the Chinese government.
