The California Air Resources Board has adopted rules that mandate ride-hailing companies such as Uber and Lift to provide 90% of their services in electric vehicles by 2030. The regulation is the first of this sort in a US state. Companies said achieving this goal is realistic with additional government subsidies for electric vehicles and charging stations. Uber and Lyft have established partnerships with charging station companies to lower drivers' costs. In addition, Uber plans to invest$800 million by 2025 to support drivers in the transition to electric vehicles.
