The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered a probe into Apple over alleged business practises and violation of antitrust laws.
A month earlier, a case was filed with the CCI over Apple misusing its dominant position in the app market, and forcing developers to use its proprietary in-app purchase system. Apple has denied the allegations, asking the regulator to dismiss the case as the company's market share in India was an "insignificant" 0-5%. CCI had rejected Apple's argument, stating it was 'completely misdirected' and that the allegations were about anticompetitive restrictions on app developers and not the end users.
