In order to boost digital inclusion of marginalised persons, the government of Zimbabwe has launched the second Community Information Center. The objective of this initiative is to provide underserved communities in remote areas with access to information and communication technologies. Moreover, particular attention will be paid to content in local languages and dialects. This project is pursued as part of the national development strategy that was launched in 2020 and that is expected to run until 2030. From a broader perspective, the initiative is expected to advance Zimbabwe's performance on the 17 sustainable development goals.
