US authorities want to eradicate Kelihos botnet

The US Justice Department has announced its intention to disrupt and dismantle the Kelihos botnet. The activities are connected with an arrest of Russian citizen Peter Yuryevich Levashov (also known as Peter Severa) in Spain who is believed to be behind the Kelihos operations. The Kelihos botnet is ranked as one of the largest botnets distributing spam containing malware and ransomware.
