The Parliament of Ukraine has passed legislation for the use of e-passports, the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Confirming the Citizenship of Ukraine, Certifying Identity or a Special Status. The law gives a basis for digitisation of passports. The electronic passports can be used for identification as well as access to government services within Ukraine. The passports will be generated from a centralised database- Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services once the law takes effect in August 2021.
