Reuters reported that UberEats launched over-the-counter (OTC) drugs delivery services in South Africa. To extend its delivery services, Uber Eats has partnered with local health group Medicare, which operates more than 50 clinics and pharmacies in the country. The partnership will allow UberEats users to purchase OTC medication and have them delivered. General manager of UberEats South Africa Shane Austine said the nationwide lockdown and mobility restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic have created an immediate need to accelerate the business in increasing accessibility to daily essential items.
