The race to deploy 5G in market has sped up. Verizon announced a commercial pilot 5G deployment in eleven markets across the United States by mid-2017. Although it is yet unclear how the final 5G standards will look like, many manufacturers and carriers regularly inform about successful 5G trials. Most recently, Nokia and AT&T, Huawei, and Ericsson with SK Telecom and Deutsche Telekom. The expected timeline adopted by the ITU expects a wide market-ready 5G technology by 2020.
