The government of India and the European Commission signed an 'Intent of Cooperation on High Performance Computing (HPC), Weather Extremes & Climate Modeling and Quantum Technologies' on 21 November 2022.
The cooperation aims to build HPC applications using Indian and European supercomputers in the area of medicine, climate change, and quantum computing.
This further builds on the commitments made by both parties to deepen technological cooperation on quantum technologies and HPC during the last EU-India Leaders' meeting on 8 May 2021 and follows the announcement of the establishment of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council.
