In today's filling with the US Security and Exchange Commission, the biggest automaker in the world: the Tesla company, announced that investment strategy for 2021 includes heavy investment ($1.5 billion) in the bitcoin cryptocurrency, in order to diversify their investment portfolio. The company also announced that during this year they will start accepting cryptocurrency payments for their vehicles. Decision also needs to go through Tesla's board of shareholders, which integrates many of the investors reluctant to new means of investment. They consider cryptocurrencies to be too volatile as an investment strategy.
After MicroStrategy, and Twitter's Square, Tesla is a third big technological company to announce investments in cryptocurrency. News from Tesla pushed the price of bitcoin to the new record high value of$44.500 per bitcoin.
