Satellite operator SpaceCom and developer and financier of solar solution Ignite Power signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate to provide connectivity solutions for e-health in sub-Saharan Africa. Through this collaboration, SpaceCom will provide broadband connectivity on its AMOS-17 satellite and Ignite Power will provide off-grid solar power solutions and sustainable diagnostic systems. This aims to support an efficient backbone infrastructure for the delivery of digital medical services to rural communities through providing local populations and medical teams with immediate access to medical specialists around the world alongside data analysis in the cloud. 'Providing internet connectivity to rural areas in Africa is a major pillar in Spacecom's strategy to close the digital gap,' noted SpaceCom chief executive officer Dan Zajicek.
