NIMA Codes, a Senegalese digital mapping service for locations without former addresses, hopes to expand to 15 African countries by 2020 with the upgraded version of the product.
The start-up which was launched in 2018 and involves an application programming interface (API) that uses mobile phone numbers to obtain co-ordinates of unregistered homes and businesses in Senegal, presently has a chat tool to help users locate and comment on service providers, and a photo based location identifier called NIMA snap.
NIMA Code Co-founder and CEO Mouhamadou Sall said they are offering a reliable street address product that can communicate locations reliably.
