According to a news report, the US federal government has provided more than$60 million in grants and low-interest loans to the state of Missouri as part of an effort to bring affordable Internet access to may in rural areas.
According to the report the grants are being given to six businesses to install fiber optic Internet lines high-speed Internet service to rural under-served communities of Missouri. The companies benefitting from the funding are already involved in rural connectivity projects and the support will give them a boost to do more. They include Gascosage Electric Cooperative, Mid-States Services of Trenton and Green Hills Telephone.
