Scotland Yard revealed that, between 24 March and 23 April, 92 children in London were targeted by paedophiles. They added that, on average, they receive around 50 alerts a week from the UK National Crime Agency about potential online abuse cases.
Looking at this alarming trend, police in the United Kingdom have urged parents to be more vigilant and monitor what their children do online.
Detective Superintendent Helen Flanagan stated ''The restrictions have led to a huge growth in internet use, including by children -and inevitably there are a greater number of sexual predators online looking to target and groom young people.'
