The Chair of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) on ICT security published the calendar of OEWG sessions and related events.
The dates of substantive sessions are 4-8 March, 8-12 July, and 2-6 December 2024. A dedicated intersessional meeting is scheduled for 13-17 May, 2024.
Regarding the Points of Contact (POC) directory, states should submit written submissions from states on capacities required for effective participation of POCs by 15 March. States are encouraged to nominate POCs before 15 April. In May 2024, the first meeting of POCs will take place, followed by the inaugural POC directory 'ping' test on 10 June to assess system functionality. In June, the Secretariat will issue a background paper outlining the capacities required for effective POC participation. Looking ahead to the second half of 2024, a simulation exercise for the POC directory is planned, along with the release of capacity-building materials by the Secretariat, including e-learning modules.
Regarding capacity building, the OEWG Secretariat will issue a report with findings of the capacity-building mapping exercise in March 2024. A global roundtable meeting on ICT security capacity-building is planned for 10 May 2024.
The Secretariat will also update the cyber diplomacy e-learning course in the second half of 2024.
