The North Korean government has announced that it is blocking Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and South Korean websites. Although few North Koreans have access to the Internet and can usually only see a 'sealed-off, government-sanctioned intranet', foreigners in North Korea have had almost unrestricted access to the Internet. The new rules will make it difficult for the small community of foreign residents to bring information about North Korea to the outside world, and 'further limit the ability of North Koreans with Internet access to view information about their country posted elsewhere.'
