The city of Lagos in Nigeria has announced its plans to accelerate optical fiber coverage in 2021. As part of the initiative, the Lagos State Government aims to connect the fibre-optic cables to public institutions including schools, health centres, and government offices. The undertaking is part of a wider smart city project that aims to introduce security cameras to monitor crime and manage city traffic.
