Google has announced plans to build a 'useful, error-corrected quantum computer' by the end of the decade. According to Google scientist Hartmut Neven, the company now has important components in hand to build a quantum computer that can perform large-scale business and scientific calculations without errors. On the road to achieving this milestone, Google has opened a new Quantum AI campus in Santa Barbara, USA, which includes the company's first quantum data centre, quantum hardware research laboratories, and quantum processor chip fabrication facilities.
