Googlehas announced that, from January 2017, the Chrome browser will start labeling HTTP connections as 'not secure'. The label will first be added to HTTP sites that transmit passwords or credit cards, but the company plans to mark all HTTP sites as non-secure on long term. As Motherboard reports, the gradual introduction of the label is aimed to educate users about the risks of unencrypted websites, while avoiding leading them to the so-called 'warning fatigue' (when users get so used to warnings that they stop paying attention to them).
