The German cabinet has approved a bill requiring any operators that setup critical infrastructure like high-speed networks to guarantee their equipment cannot be leveraged for sabotage, espionage or terrorism. The objective of the bill is to address security concerns about Huawei posing a security risk. All companies will be mandated to submit a guarantee and any vendor who is unable to pass the threshold can be banned from operating. The law does not completely ban Huawei as demanded by the USA and focuses on manufacturers vs companies.
