Following the G20 Digital Economy Ministers virtual meetings on 18 July 2020 , a Ministerial Declaration was published to underscore the role of connectivity and digital technologies in accelerating recovery from economic system shocks. It further acknowledged responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted the importance of reliable artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, data flows, smart cities, and measurement and security of the digital economy. To this aim, the ministers welcomed examples of national policies and best practices on these issues, as well as a roadmap towards a common framework on the digital economy, as illustrated by four annexes to the declaration.
