Facebook announced it started working on assigning a legal representative in Turkey to comply with a law passed in July 2020 governing social media companies. The law requires social media platforms to maintain representatives in Turkey in charge of coordinating complaints about content published by third parties. Facebook had faced fines, advertising bans, and bandwidth reductions for refusing to designate an official representative.
