In the ongoing fight between Epic Games and Apple about app distribution through the App Store, Epic Games has filed an antitrust complaint with the European Commission's (EC) Directorate-General for Competition. The complaint relates to Apple's control of software distribution through the App Store, as well as related payment agreements where Apple charges 30% fee to software developers for app distribution.
The Epic Games complaint is joining previous complaints of software developers to the EC, which led it to open an antitrust investigation against Apple for its App Store rules last year.
The EU antitrust complaint is one of several ongoing legal processes against Apple and its App Store rules, joining the USA, Australia, and the UK.
