The Dutch Data Protection Authority calls for a better standard for the use of AI and algorithms in the education sector. It goes after the authority mapped the trends and development of AI and algorithms and saw the requirements for further policy to comply better with privacy legislation in the education sector.
The authority appreciates the strong efforts made by the education sector in abiding by the privacy law but still sees the need for improvements to provide better guidance. The sector needs to have a consensus on how to deal with these challenges. Beyond the education sector, the authority has stipulated a necessity to identify the risks and take effective measures for any entity using AI and algorithms in processing personal data.
