Education leaders and innovators around the world are transforming education today. Please join us on March 19th (Americas and EMEA) or March 20 (Asia Pacific), for the Cisco Virtual Forum for Education Leaders, to see how they are shaping the future of education.

During this free global conference, which you can attend from the convenience of your desktop or mobile device, you can participate in live roundtable discussions on leading-edge strategies and practical solutions that are improving the quality of education.  The Forum opens with a keynote session with Dr. Larry Johnson, CEO of the New Media Consortium, and Dr. Ellen Junn, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at San Jose State University, on Trends Shaping the Future of Education. The keynote will followed by  breakout sessions for K-12 schools and higher education. There will also be a virtual exhibit hall featuring resources and information on how Cisco solutions can help transform teaching and learning.

The Virtual Forum will also feature live Moderated Chat sessions with Cisco education experts on the technologies supporting the latest trends in education including BYOD, flipped learning, social collaboration, ICT education, desktop virtualization and more. We'll also include a session in Brazilian Portuguese.

Realizing the Promise of BYOD in Education

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) provides expanded opportunities to engage learners, enhance staff productivity and maximize limited education technology budgets. Realizing the promise of BYOD, however, requires major changes in policy, pedagogy, IT infrastructure and network management. This interactive discussion will focus on strategies and best practices in implementing successful BYOD programs including: designing your wired and wireless networks; network security and access policies; and network and device management.

Social Collaboration in Higher Education

Demands from students and faculty are causing higher education leaders to explore new platforms for social collaboration to provide dynamic platforms for teaching and learning inside and outside of the traditional classroom. This interactive session will explore opportunities to integrate social networking, content creation, and real-time communications to go beyond email, learning management systems, and portals, to connect people, capture the knowledge and expertise within the education ecosystem, and make those resources easily available to students and teachers anywhere.

The Cisco Networking Academy and Global ICT Education

Did you know there is a growing gap between the number of future ICT jobs and the number of people who will be equipped to fill them? Join us to chat about how Cisco is  helping to build the global ICT workforce of the future through our largest Corporate Social Responsibility program, the Cisco Networking Academy. Learn how we're helping to shape and evolve education along the way, through Networking Academy program innovations and support of non-profits focused on education.

Flipped Learning, Lecture Capture and Video Collaboration

Video is rapidly becoming the preferred method of communicating and collaborating in education. This trend is having a profound impact in how educators teach and students learn. This discussion will focus on how new video collaboration solutions such as lecture capture, combined with forward-looking pedagogies, are enabling the Flipped Classroom and other next generation models that enhance student engagement, personalize learning and expand opportunities for professional development.

Virtual Desktops and the Next Generation Classroom

Schools, colleges and universities can now able deliver next generation classroom environments by unifying virtual desktops, voice, and video. This interactive discussion will focus on best practices that are allowing schools, colleges and universities to: virtualize data center infrastructures and applications; provide students, faculty and staff with virtual workspaces from any device on the network; and realize energy, maintenance and equipment savings.

Plan, Build, and Manage an Education Ready Architecture

Please join Cisco Education Services and your peers from the education community, for a discussion of trends in the use of multiple devices, video and other collaboration technologies in K-12 and higher education.  We'll share best practices that Cisco employs to help schools plan, build and manage a scalable, stable, resilient network that can keep pace with evolving user demand, safety and security concerns, educational imperatives and administrative requirements.
