The Amsterdam District Court decided that drivers in the capital of the Netherlands are employees and entitled to labour rights and benefits. The case was supported by the Federation of Dutch Union which argued that drivers who transport passengers via the Uber app must be covered by the collective labour agreement for taxi transportation. The court also ordered the platform to pay a 50 thousand euros fine for having failed to put in place the terms of the labour agreement for taxi drivers.
