The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced that all existing 1195 generic top-level domains (gTLDs) have deployed Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). DNSSEC is a mechanism that allows domain name registrants to digitally sign information they put into the Domain Name System (DNS), as a way to protect consumers by ensuring that DNS data that has been corrupted accidentally or maliciously does not reach them. For DNSSEC to improve the security of the Internet, it needs to be widely deployed across all TLDs.
