Cisco has a significant presence atAutomation Fair in Houston this week. This event is not only the largest gathering of Rockwell Automation users, it is also one of the most well-attended conferences for controls and industrial automation. The day was busy both in the exhibit floor and throughout the sessions, industry forums and demonstration areas.
At the Cisco booth (#1321), my colleague Doug Bellin posted his impressions from Day 1 of this conference. The Cisco booth was packed with demonstrations such as a simulated integrated control and remote response operations room as well as industrial security solutions. Many conversations at the booth centered on Internet of Things, IT/OT convergence and other topics.
Meanwhile, at the Industrial IP Advantage booth (#1223), Kevin Davenport from Cisco mentions that security was probably the top-of-mind issue that booth visitors had. IIPA is in a position to help give guidance-this online community is a great resource for keeping up to date on the latest trends, developments, implementation advice and opinions on the use of IP in industrial applications.
