The Cisco social media marketing team was on the ground in Austin for the SXSW Interactive Conference and the second ever#CiscoChat. The team engaged with participants onsite and over social media, teeing up an announcement around our new collaboration service-Cisco Spark-by asking participants how they collaborate with coworkers on the go.

We also had several influencers join us onsite, including former Mashable co-editor and CAPTIOLOGY author Ben Parr. Always keeping a finger on the pulse of new platforms and trends, Ben answered questions with us live and streamed the event on Meerkat to nearly 100 attendees.

Throughout the day, we saw hundreds of mentions of#CiscoChat, which went trending on Twitter in Austin!

Participants revealed that they use everything from video conferencing to personal email, text messaging, and social media as their methods for collaboration on the go.

Building on the buzz from#CiscoChat, throughout the chat, we dropped hints about a collaboration announcement taking place the following day.

With great momentum started from#CiscoChat on the topic of collaboration, on Tuesday we announced an update on Cisco Spark, our newest collaboration service. Cisco Spark, formerly Project Squared, reimagines everything about workforce collaboration, empowering users to create virtual rooms for sharing, discussing and deciding -and it can all be done from any device and from anywhere. In short, it allows users to "spark" the best ideas and conversations to keep their plans and projects moving at lightning speed.
