The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and the S?o Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) launched the Science Centre for Development in Digital Agriculture (CCD-AD/SemeAr) to advance research, development, and innovation in emerging technologies for agriculture. The initiative aims to assist small and medium-sized rural producers in creating solutions that promote productivity gains, cost reduction, and increased efficiency in agricultural production.
The project includes creating ten Agro Technological Districts (DATs) across the country to improve connectivity solutions in rural areas and increase the use of digital technologies in agricultural production processes. This involves the use of artificial intelligence, remote sensing, automation, precision farming, traceability, and certification. Over the next five years, a total of R$25 million will be invested in the CCD-AD.
