The inaugural ASEAN-US Cyber Policy Dialogue took place during the Singapore International Cyber Week. The Statement of the Co-chairs -the USA and Laos -reaffirmed the 2015 Report of the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security (UNGGE) and the recommended voluntary norms of responsible behaviour in cyberspace. The Dialogue acknowledged the regional efforts on cybersecurity cooperation, and implementation of confidence building measures, through ASEAN Ministers' meetings as well as the ASEAN Regional Forum intersessional meeting. Particular emphasis was put on capacity building, and number of related ongoing initiatives and programmes, in particular related to the protection of the critical infrastructure, combating cybercrime and terrorist use of ICT. The second ASEAN-US Cyber Policy Dialogue was considered for 2020.
