Airbnb is blocking rentals over Halloween weekend in the USA and Canada as part of its effort to avoid party houses. Previously booked places will be cancelled and hosts will refund payments. In previous Halloweens, deadly shootings resulted with five victims at an Airbnb rental in California, USA. The platform also announced that it will analyse all two and three nights' bookings around the date. Guests trying to rent a home close their own property during the period might also be denied. Airbnb has started to manually review US and Canadian bookings to detect suspicious rentals since the shooting in California.
