The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), the global coalition working to make broadband affordable to all, has launched its 2020 Affordability Report. The report mainly invites governments to develop national broadband plans geared towards making Internet access more affordable so that more people can connect. The report further notes that the global COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened the need for affordable Internet. The report finds that three steps are critical to achieve success as far as broadband plans are concerned: (a) open consultations, (b) setting clear targets, (c) committed funding.
